Hydrovolt recruits Helge Refsum as Chief Technology Officer
Hydrovolt, a joint venture between Northvolt and Hydro, has recruited Helge Refsum as its Chief Technology Officer (CTO), effective from the new year.
Helge Refsum joins Hydrovolt from the position as Director of Business Development in Hydro Batteries, a position he has held since 2021. Refsum brings close to 20 years industrial experience from various management and board positions in consulting, business development, production, and technology from companies such as Hydro, McKinsey, REC Solar and Statnett.

The recruitment of Refsum marks the first position of its kind as part of the management team in Hydrovolt. Refsum’s experience from technology qualification at Statnett, rapid scaling in a new industry at REC Solar, and as acting Head of Quality and HSE at Hydro Recycling strengthens the management team moving into the company’s next growth phase.

Helge Refsum holds a MSc in Applied Physics from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), writing his final thesis at CERN in Geneva, Switzerland.
